Our treadmill is sick. It sheared a pin, sprung a spring or something of the sort. Hubby will take a look at it, but has a few projects ahead of it.
In the interim I grabbed this relic off Craigslist. It does the job, but I miss the cupholder, wider track and auto incline. Can you tell one of my projects is to remove that wallpaper and repaint? It's been on my project list since we moved in (9 yrs. ago).
I've reached the point where I ALMOST (not quite, but almost) enjoy the time I spend on the treadmill. In the past it was hard to justify thirty minutes on the treadmill with nothing accomplished on my daily to do list. I knew the health benefits, jean size benefits and yada, yada, yada. With each step my mind would constantly fill with other things I could be accomplishing.
As females I think we were born to multi-task. I now fill my time on the treadmill with...
- prayer
- HGTV muted and I re-design the rooms
- hand weight exercises
- tearing pages from past magazine issues of things I want to keep
The same held true with finding time to spend in God's word. I'd see the dishes in the sink, the piles of laundry, beds waiting to be made, blogs to post and on and on. How do I find the time?
I love to multi-task, but one day I made the decision to put my time with God first. My other tasks will always be multiplying, but my moments with God will forever be cherished and life enhancing. God blesses the time I spend in his word and helps me accomplish more than when I put other tasks before him.
I hope you make time for God today.
