Cleaning the racks in the oven and cleaning all the parts to the refrigerator are not a pleasant task. Both of which I need to do. I have a tip to help you with the oven racks, but the refrigerator, all I can say is give yourself 3-4 hours they have so many parts.
Here's the recipe to get your oven racks cleaned up from Thanksgiving dinner and ready to start that holiday baking.
Spic-N-Span
Ammonia
Brillo Pads
Really Hot Water
I fill up the laundry tub as close to the top as I can to get as much of the rack to soak in the water. No exact measurements here, I just pour approx. 1 cup of Spic-N-Span, 1 cup Ammonia and the hottest water. Let the racks soak for about an hour, use a Brillo pad to scour off the racks. This recipe makes the baked on grease dissolve and much easier to remove. Flip the racks to soak the remaining portion.
I like to store my Brillo Pads in a glass jar, keeps my cupboard clean from all the bits that usually fall from the bottom of the box. I keep my automatic dishwasher powder in a jar too. Can you tell I like to use jars? You should see my laundry room (lots of Jars), that's a whole other post.
Happy Cleaning!
Thankyou for the special recipe! My oven could use this TLC this week!

End of the year spurs me on to organize and clean. I used your "recipe" and my oven racks have never looked better. Worked great. And not as tough on the my hands (I hate rubber gloves). Now to clean the refrigerator. Ugh! Thanks for the tip.
