You've maybe read about my love for vintage buttons, and how my Grandma collected them, and how I keep them in my kitchen, so they're pretty to look at, and ready to use.
Well, as I sewed up a stretched-out button hole of a sweater I just picked up at TJ Maxx, I decided to give it a little vintage bling for the holidays! I also decided I would never actually button up this sweater, so I could use 2 matching buttons!
Here were my best options:
I liked the tailored look of the buttons on the left, but decided the ones on the right looked more holiday-ish. Combined with a white T, some new jeans, a vintage-look necklace, and I'm ready to go!
Until I realized my red wool coat of a couple of years had never gotten it's buttons put back on...and the originals were soooo boring!
Back to the button jars...
Fabric covered white ones, red covered, or basic cream with holes. Any of them would be cute for my Christmas to Valentine's coat...but then I considered black...and found these!
I like! A couple more stitches, and I'm heading out the door with Mr. Freckles and Happy Girl to see Madeline's Christmas at Stages Theatre in Hopkins!
Now, if someone could please let me know how to get some of those little ball-y things off the wool??
