What do you do with a stack of drawers left over from all those vintage desks and vanities that hubby has cut apart?
A few months ago I shared a post on vintage-desks-vanities-re-purposed.html After hubby has taken them apart, re-attached their tops and added some special touches here and there... they are ready for a whole new look. Here's some pics of the final results.
When Lora and I (with lots of help from our husbands) dis-assemble furniture, we are left with pieces remaining. We each have stacks and piles of remnants in our garages. I often compare us with the indians that used every part of each buffalo they hunted. By the time we are finished there is usually one small pile of materials that goes to the fire pit.
Now back to the stack of drawers...
Hubby cuts off the back of each drawer and re-attaches it to make a small wall hanging drawer. He attaches "D" hooks on the back (or old hinges work too) to hang the drawer on the wall.
Our customers love these, they use them in their kitchens to hold mail, to display frames, plants or whatever.
Sometimes we leave the drawers in their natural wood state, this time I painted all the fronts to give us some color this time of year.
Have fun using all your remnants from your projects!
