I've been spending my days planting flowers and working on some great new furniture pieces for the store, but I like to make a few seasonal changes that make me smile. I made three quick changes to our bedroom that just speak summer. I didn't even dust, clean or wash the windows. Just a great reminder that sometimes some quick changes are just what we need (the cleaning can happen later:)
A summer bedspread. This pretty, rhubarb-colored damask, along with these vintage yellow ticking down pillows look like my garden in bloom with yellow buttercups and peonies.
Put away the wool throw that draped over the arm of the chair, and replaced it with a picnic-worthy patchwork throw, along with one of my own button pillows made from vintage buttons and feedsack fabric.
Sent my subtle linen shades to the basement, and replaced my bedside lamps with fun, summery shades that I got from Target a while back. Of course, picking a fresh bunch of blooming flowers from the garden is so fun this time of year!
My linens cupboard gets a fresh wreath of green and white in the summer. I enjoy my milkglass collection downstairs and here in the bedroom.
I'm still thoroughly enjoying my plate collection on the wall, especially with the morning sunshine streaming through the tablecloth linen curtains.
Hope you're enjoying your summer flowers, and are making some summer-fresh decorating changes in your home!
I love this bedroom with its soft old-fashioned wallpaper, chippy bed, etc. This is my kind of decorating! It is real and comfortable to me.

Thanks, Ginene! Not very masculine, but Mr. fix-it doesn't seem to mind;)
