Fall...it's one of my favorites! I love each new season, but I wish fall would last a little longer.
The windows open, a fall candle (Orange Spice, of course) burning and I'm ready to tackle the house. Last week after our Occasional Sale I took a few days to move furniture, vacuum woodwork and just deep clean. The problem when I start cleaning like this is I notice how much more cleaning I want to do. The windows, vacuum, wipe down and lemon oil every piece of woodwork and door in our home, clean closets, cupboards ets. I could stay busy in our home for months getting it the way I want it. Then I think of all the fall foods I want to make and bake and the sewing projects that are calling my name. Maybe I should stop by the courthouse and see what minor crime I could commit to get house arrest for about three months.
Our Small Group was coming over so a deadline is always good for me. I cleaned bathrooms and deep cleaned the family room, lemon oil on the woodwork will have to wait. I dug out the fall bins and sprinkled a little fall around our main floor.
Burlap Sunflowers in the powder room, an easy touch of fall.
The fall decorating has only just begun at our home, but it's a gorgeous day in Minnesota so I have to get outside and start working to fill the store for October Occasional.
Enjoy your home, and add a few touches of fall to welcome your guests this season.
