Happy 1st day of Fall! I dropped the kiddos off early this morning so they could pray for their school at See You at the Pole, and then buzzed to the local farm stand to get corn stalks and pumpkins to decorate before the forecasted rain comes!
The sun's actually out now, so don't know why I needed to rush. Hopefully the rain will hold off a little longer. I've got plenty I still want to do today!
Are you in the fall mood? I pulled out the fall-colored fingernail polish, switched out my purse and my shoes, and made a batch of Granola and a Caramel Apple Cake. After I cleaned the bathrooms, I added some fresh flowers that will just dry and still stay pretty.
I haven't really decorated for fall inside yet, but I did switch to my fall dishes and added a little fall to my sink shelf. I've been cleaning and switching around some furniture. I just love change in my house. Maybe after Occasional I will be able to snap some pics inside.
I've been working on a lot of great pieces for the store, with the nice weather we've been having...
I hope you can come Oct. 1,2,3,4...we are going to be so full of amazing items! Fall is a wonderful time to come to Buffalo. Make sure you check the new on-line store next Tues-Wed 9pm-9pm for our sneak preview chance at what's new, PatinaGeneral.com.
So, back to my outside decor...
I've been picking up items here and there, and finally finished today with the cornstalks and pumpkins. Just in time for the first day of fall, right? This time of year is when my fake farmhouse really looks like a country home, and I just love it! I can almost forget about the icky critters that come along with living in a 100 year house...almost;(
I do take the corn off the cornstalks, so as to not encourage critters to be close to my house. I then use the husks in my pots.
I put pumpkins in my bird cages, because...they look cute!
And I so enjoy looking at this vignette out my patio door when I'm cooking supper:
I was going to put the croquet sets away for the season, but their colors were so perfect for this time of year, and what better weather to play an engaging game of croquet?
I'm glad this job's done, because I have plenty others that aren't! Hope you can have some fun with your outside decor, this year. As I look at these pic's, I'm thinking about all the places I went to gather these goodies: Mini mums, Lowe's, Funky pumpkins, Walmart, Kale and grasses, Bachman's, Rudbeckia, Coborns, Cornstalks, pumpkins, and gourds, Farm Stand in Loretto. Vintage chairs, blankets, etc...you can find at Patina General, of course!
Over the top...as usual. That's what Mr. Fix-it thinks of me. And I am living up to it...
