Spring is busting out all over outside. The birds are chirping, the daffodils popping up their leaves and the buds are bursting. I love Spring! My house got the Spring makeover before Easter, and I'm thoroughly enjoying all the bright, happy colors surrounding me! My word for the year is "NEW", and I look at it every time I'm at the kitchen sink, while I ponder and pray over what that word will mean in my life for 2016.
I thoroughly enjoyed accessorizing my big wall of glass cupboards with everything Spring. From the cheerful colors of my flower pot and pitcher collection to the vintage tin cake carriers and picnic baskets, along with the birds, chicks, and ducks to bring life...it's a feast of pretty to gaze at while I make supper!
The felt carrot bunting I picked up at Home Goods is the cherry on top. I still need to find one more of the topiaries, which can be a needle-in-the-haystack hunt at T.J.Maxx. I'm crossing my fingers...
If the glass doors weren't on, this wall would be complete noise to me, but because it's all tucked away, I can enjoy the prettiness, and still have the visual rest of a clutter-free expanse of counter.
The springtime dishes with aqua flowers came out, along with the white, aqua and green pyrex. Some coffee cups from Ikea give a bolt of color, along with the green ball jar drinking glasses. I just love the open shelf concept for the convenience of everyday dishes, and also for the aesthetic value. Picked up a bunch of pink tulips from Costco and spread them around, too.
In our back hall entry, birds, nests, and their eggs reign. The pretty-handled vintage unbrellas are ready for the spring rain showers, along with one of my favorite gifts from my mom, a "Rain, rain, go away" framed print.
In the dining room, I stood up my LuRay oval platters like eggs, along with three tart mold pedestals cradling three nests. Three is definitely the magic number in this vignette.
I always decorate with birds, but it's even more pronounced this time of year. The classic framed print of the golden-haired toddler looking up at a singing bird comes out, along with a beautiful Bird book that I enjoy both the cover, and pages ripped out, nailed to my architectural ladders on the wall.
Even birdseed brought indoors can be a great decorative accent this time of year.
Some of Jodi's beautiful pillows, along with my tattered, vintage quilts and a couple new pillows from Home Goods brighten up the living room.
I'm kind of excited to wash the windows this weekend, and get the screens on, so I can hear the birds chirping all day! I'm also looking forward to the spring trees blooming and the tulips and daffodils in their full glory (which the folks down south are already enjoying).
Hope you get to enjoy these beautiful spring days, both inside and out!
