
When my friends came curbside junking with me for the first time this spring, they were inquisitively watching from their vehicle as I jumped out to grab quite a few old hoses. When we stopped for lunch, they questioned why in the world would I want old hoses? Decorative possibilities galore! Do other people not see the potential? Guess not...not unusual in my life!

I had the opportunity this past week to decorate for a church shower, celebrating our youth pastor and his wife's baby girl, due to arrive in September. When I was asked to help out, I knew I wanted to be involved and thank them for how much they have taught, mentored and supported my three kiddos through the years. How exciting for them to now experience parenthood for themselves!

I did a lot of seat cushions last year for our big grad party celebration. Happy Girl handled the sewing end beautifully, and I wielded the staple gun endlessly. If you own an electric staple gun, re-doing your kitchen/dining room chair seats, or your outdoor chair seats is rather simple, and an easy project for a non-sewer.

Think we're all needing a little peek at spring this time of year. I had a little stash of pretty background papers that depicted some of my favorite things in my favorite colors. Vintage chairs, houses, old garden paraphanalia, doilys, geometrics, in pretty pastels with black. I'd been keeping them to enjoy somewhere, but hadn't figured out where or what.

Metal garbage cans are definitely a thing of the past...maybe that's why I'm drawn to their ribbed, galvanized patina. Of course, whenever we separate items, they become more useful and appealing. This project is a great example!
