There is a little farmhouse right up the hill from our church home that's breathing it's last breath today. It's occupant once owned all the property. Thankfully, there were people who reached out and showed love to this homeowner. He's enjoying his heavenly palatial home now, because of them.
As I take the Christmas decor down in my home, I ponder the events of the last weeks. During the holidays, I had the sad privilege of attending the funerals of two wise men, who each used their gifts to bless those around them, and glorify their Lord. The celebrations of their lives impressed upon me what Ephesians 6:7 encourages, "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men." (NIV)
The Christmas decorating was basically done but I realized I hadn't placed anything in the middle of our kitchen table for the season. I like something simple that can easily be removed from atop the placemats before setting the table for meals.
Shoplifting is unfortunately a part of the retail business. Large companies lose millions a year in lost inventory. But somehow, when what you sell has been made with your own hands, created from your own ideas, and taken time away from other important tasks in life...it feels personal.

Eighteen years ago our son, Jonathan was born. I remember countless people telling me to enjoy every minute because they grow up so fast. In that moment of life...sleepless nights and blurred days from pure exhaustion, I couldn't comprehend that statement.
In this world, we all have the same amount of hours and minutes to our days. How we choose to spend those moments determines our values, our priorities, our relationships, our environment...big, important, life-giving issues are decided in how we spend our minutes.
A father's love is special...
Every time I acquire a vintage piece of furniture or other item (or before I buy or agree to taking), I am confronted with the decision as to what this piece will need from me! Motherhood holds the same challenges on a daily and yearly basis!
